Cops shoot mentally ill man who attacked them with cutlass

A mentally ill man known as ‘Phalai King’ was shot in the left leg by ranks of a Police patrol in Linden, Region Ten on Monday.

Police Headquarters in a statement said the man attacked the Police ranks with a cutlass and after warning him repeatedly to stop, he was shot.

He is presently admitted at the Linden Hospital Complex under Police guard.

Police said the man habitually attacks persons in the community with a cutlass and other instruments.

Investigations are ongoing.
