A number of persons from the Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities (GCOPD) and members of the disability community benefited from care vouchers, office equipment and cash donation on Saturday.

N&S Algoo Brokes made the kind donation in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Council in a statement said a blind student, Angelica Bassoo received a mobile phone to help her access her school work while another student Mekyla Belgrave received a cash donation which will cover the cost for writing the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) exams.

Additionally, the Council received care vouchers that will be given to two women with disabilities to visit a specialist to have a breast examination and to conduct other medical tests. A high efficiency multi-functioning printer was also donated.

“The management and members of GCOPD, express sincerest gratitude to Mr. Nandalall Algoo and Mrs. Sabrina Algoo for their kind donation and for including Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in this significant and timely initiative,” the Council stated.

Meanwhile, the directors of N & S Algoo Brokers pledged their continued support for the Council and the disability community.
