    The Ministry of Health has recorded two new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, taking the death toll to 128.

    The latest fatalities are a 74-year-old woman from Region Four and a 57-year-old man from Region One. These persons died while receiving care at a medical facility.

    The Ministry of Health expressed condolences to the families of the two deceased and said it will make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time to render any assistance needed.

    The Ministry Sunday recorded 46 new COVID-19 cases taking the overall total to 4,208.

    Monday’s fatalities are the first to be reported for November. However, October ended with 44 deaths following September which recorded 41 deaths from COVID-19.

    Guyana on Sunday entered another phase of the reopening of the economy with the curfew moving to 10:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

    For the month of November, the Government has also relaxed several measures to allow for the reopening of gyms at 50% capacity and the reopening of schools for examination students.

    All Guyanese are reminded to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.11), which are in effect until November 30, 2020. This order emphasises:

      the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home;

      the importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others;

      and the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

    If anyone is displaying any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19, or need any additional information, kindly contact the COVID-19 Hotline 231-1166, 226-7480 or 624-6674 IMMEDIATELY or visit www.health.gov.gy.
