79 new COVID-19 cases recorded, 13 in ICU

The Ministry of Health on Wednesday recorded 79 new COVID-19 cases from 408 tests. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 4, 324.

Region One recorded 34 of the new cases while, Region Four recorded 25 new cases. The other cases were recorded in Region Two with five cases, Region Three recorded nine new cases, Regions Six and Eight each recorded one new case and Region Ten recorded 10 new cases.

There are now 13 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Georgetown Public Hospital, 62 patients are in institutional isolation and 725 are in home isolation.

An additional 32 persons, who came into contact with positive patients, are in institutional quarantine. To date, 130 persons have died and 3, 394 persons have recovered.

The total number of tests done is 20, 739.
