The Rotary Club of Georgetown recently held its prize giving ceremony for the first-ever Kids’ Garden Essay and Art Contest at the Pegasus Hotel.

In a brief ceremony, all of the prize winners except one, along with one parent each attended the socially distanced event.

Several board members were present and brief remarks were made by President Clyde De Haas, who gave an overview of Rotary’s purpose in society and on the service projects, while the Director of Public Relations, Anasha Ally, provided an overview of the contest’s objectives and outcomes and congratulated the winners and participants.

Chief Judges Tonya Williams (Art) and Rtn George Edwards (Essay) provided contestants with their comments on how the judging went, including criteria used and the overall excellent standards they observed. To this end, they both commended the participants.

The excited contest winners collected their tablets, bicycles, book vouchers, garden sets, book bags and art sets. The morning concluded with some snacks and an exhibition of the artwork.
