40 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health on Sunday recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases from 330 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 5, 133.

Total recoveries now stand at 4, 019, according to the Ministry’s daily dashboard. Another COVID-19 death from Region Six was recorded, taking the death toll to 144, however the latest fatality was not reflected in Sunday’s dashboard.

The new cases were recorded in Region One with nine new cases, Region Two recorded four new cases, Region Three recorded five new cases, Region Four recorded 14 new cases, Regions Six and Eight each recorded one new case while Regions Seven and Ten recorded three new cases each.

There are 886 patients in home isolation, 78 in institutional isolation and seven patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

An additional 57 persons who came into contact with positive patients are in institutional quarantine.
