The delivery of health services in Region One (Barima-Waini) has been boosted with the provision of a new Nissan Frontier vehicle, valued at $7.3 million.

This vehicle was handed over to Regional Chairman Brentnol Ashley on Monday by the Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony.

The Health Minister, while providing brief remarks, stated that the ministry is committed to ensuring that people in all communities have greater access to health services by upgrading infrastructure and services.

It is for this reason, he said, that the region has been equipped with this vehicle, and a water ambulance earlier.

“In the coming months and the coming years, we are going to get more things for Region One and all of that is done with the idea of helping Region One to increase our (health) coverage and to ensure that quality health services are given to each community regardless of how far you are,” Dr. Anthony said.

Meanwhile, the Regional Chairman welcomed the vehicle, assuring that it will be used to serve the people of the region.
