    The Ministry of Health on Saturday disclosed that three more people died from COVID-19 between October 27 and 30.

    The two women and one man died while receiving medical care. With these new deaths, the death toll for October is now 114, while a total of 913 people died since March 2020.

    The ministry reported that two patients died from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) – an 86-year-old man whose vaccination status is unknown died on October 29, while a 75-year-old unvaccinated woman died on October 30.

    The other patient is a 58-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice -Corentyne); her vaccination status is unknown and she died on October 27, the ministry stated.

    Meanwhile, 104 new COVID-19 infections were recorded from a total of 1, 621 tests. This means that 35, 584 people tested positive for the virus since March 2020.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region Three (12 cases), Region Four (42 cases), Region Five (seven cases), Region Six (23 cases), Region Seven (two cases), Region Eight (five cases) and Region Ten (three cases).

    There are 17 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 65 patients are in institutional isolation, and 2, 758 patients are in home isolation.

    To date, 31, 795 persons have recovered from the virus.
