    A 22-year-old woman from Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) is among three women who have succumbed to the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

    The Ministry of Health reported that the young woman was unvaccinated and died on November 3. Two other women – a 64-year-old fully vaccinated and an unvaccinated 55-year-old – from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) died on November 4.

    The latest deaths mean that seven people have died so far for November, while a total of 933 people have died since March 2020.

    Meanwhile, 64 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from a total of 1, 169 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 35, 993.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (one case), Region Two (two cases), Region Three (13 cases), Region Four (24 cases), Region Five (10 cases), Region Six (six cases), Region Seven (one case) and Region Eight (seven cases).

    There are 14 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital; 54 patients are in institutional isolation and 2, 451 are in home isolation.

    To date, 32, 541 persons have recovered from the virus.
