Lethem lights up Christmas tree

To welcome in the Christmas season, the Mayor and Town Council of Lethem in collaboration with the Regional Democratic Council held its annual Christmas tree light up on the Barrack Retreat Road on Sunday evening.

The ceremony included songs and poems to entertain the crowd.

Mayor John Macedo expressed gratitude to those who invested their time and resources to make the event possible.

Generous sponsors made it possible for the children to be treated with a bag of goodies.

The ceremony was also used to recognize members of the public in the fields of education, security and health for their outstanding performance over the year.

The tree was lit by the Mayor and along with those awarded.

The event ended with families taking photos around the tree and having a merry time.

All COVID-19 protocols were observed.
