Fire Service contains blaze at CID Headquarters

The Guyana Fire Service Monday morning managed to contain a fire at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters at Eve Leary, Georgetown.

Commissioner of Police (ag) Clifton Hicken told the News Room that ranks observed smoke emanating from the western side of the building and contacted the Fire Service.

That part of the building houses the crime laboratory.

“We called the Fire Service and it did not escalate and we are waiting until they are finished to ascertain the cause,” Hicken said.
