After several competitions at the regional level over the past weeks, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport’s National Science Fair and Expo will wrap up this weekend with the national finals.

The two-day event on August 27-28 will be held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre between 15:00h and 20:00h.

In the lead-up to the finals, regional events were held in Regions Two (Anna Regina Car Park), Three (National Track and Field Centre, Leonora), Four (Everest Cricket Club ground), Five (Bush Lot Community Centre Ground), Six (Port Mourant Community Centre Ground) and 10 (Wisburg Secondary School Ground) where young Guyanese showcased their creativity through various projects.

A total of 32 projects from these Regions, as well as from Regions One, Seven and Nine will be on display this weekend, under five main categories: Energy, Environment, Agriculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Housing and Water.

The winner will receive G$1 million, runner-up G$500,000 and third G$200,000.

Admission is free and patrons will have a chance to win tickets to the Hero Caribbean Premier League matches and the Cricket Carnival events.
