Guyana’s CAPE pass rate climbs to 93.2%

Guyana’s pass rate at this year’s Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) climbed to 93.22 per cent, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Dr. Marcel Hutson said on Monday.

Dr. Hutson, who is presenting preliminary results from this year’s examinations at a ceremony in Anna Regina, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), noted that this is a substantial increase from the year before.

This year, the CEO related that a total of 671 students from 17 institutions (12 secondary schools and four private centres) wrote CAPE.

In 2021, the pass rate was 90.86 per cent. In that year, there were 723 candidates.
