Region Three man is latest COVID fatality, 13 new cases recorded

A 61-year-old unvaccinated man from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) is the latest COVID-19 death.

The Ministry of Health’s daily COVID-19 dashboard on Wednesday reported that the man died on September 11, taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,280.

Meanwhile, a total of 13 more persons were infected with COVID-19 after 430 tests were done in the last 24 hrs.

The new cases take the total number of COVID-19 infections recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 222.

These new cases were recorded in: Region Two (one case), Region Four (nine cases), Region Five (two cases) and Region Ten (one case).

There are no patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, seven persons remain in institutional isolation and 123 are in home isolation.

There have been 69,812 recoveries.
