17 new COVID cases, one patient in ICU

Another 17 people were infected with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections confirmed in Guyana since March 2020 to 71,280.

Based on the information provided in the Health Ministry’s daily COVID-19 dashboard on Tuesday, these new cases were recorded after 303 tests were done.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region One (one case), Region Four (five cases), Region Six (two cases), Region Nine (seven cases) and Region 10 (two cases).

There is just one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, while there are five persons in institutional isolation, 108 persons in home isolation and one person in institutional quarantine.

Thus far, 69,885 patients have recovered from the virus.
