Eight new COVID infections recorded

Eight new COVID-19 infections were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health’s dashboard released on Saturday.

The new cases were recorded after 254 tests were conducted.

These cases take the total number of infections confirmed in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 348.

These new cases were recorded in Region Three (one case), Region Four (six cases) and Region Seven (one case).

There are no patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, there are four persons in institutional isolation and 63 persons in home isolation.

Thus far, 70,000 patients have recovered from the virus and 1,281 deaths were recorded.
