Five more persons infected with COVID

Five new COVID-19 cases were recorded over the past 24 hours, based on information provided by the Ministry of Health in its daily COVID-19 update released on Thursday.

The new cases were recorded in Region Two (one case), Region Three (one case) and Four (three cases) after a total of 206 tests were done.

Now, a total of 71, 361 cases have been recorded in Guyana since March 2020.

Importantly, there are no patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, but there are two persons in institutional isolation and 64 persons in home isolation.

Thus far, 70,014 patients have recovered from the virus, but 1,281 people have died.
