Car crashes into GPL pole
An accident at Leonora, West Coast Demerara resulted in the disruption of electricity to several communities in Region Three on Monday.
“Due to a vehicular accident at Leonora, customers of Leonora, Tuschen New Scheme, Zeelugt, and Meten-Meer-Zorg will experience an interruption in power supply,” the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) said in a post on its Facebook page.
The News Room understands that a car crashed into the utility pole.
GPL said the interruption is necessary to facilitate remedial works to the network; the company implored road users to exercise caution on the roadways.
