Team Unknown will now be known as the 2022 champions of the ExxonMobil Futsal tournament after defeating Team Achievers 17-8 in the final at the Retrieve Hard Court, Linden, on Saturday evening.

According to a release, Team Unknown has pocketed $500,000 for its first-prize position and will collaborate with ExxonMobil Guyana to execute a community enhancement project in Linden.

Meanwhile, Team Achievers won the second prize of $200,000 while the third, Y.M.C.A, copped $100,000, and fourth, Team R9, got $50,000.

Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips in delivering closing remarks congratulated all of the players for their outstanding performances and emphasized the Government’s intent to develop Linden and all sports.

The event was also attended by the President of the Guyana Football Federation, Wayne Forde.

The organizing body, New Era Entertainment, thanked ExxonMobil Guyana for their unwavering support of Lindeners which has not gone unnoticed.

“ The fact that they are willing to participate in a development project post-game with the winning team is very thoughtful”, the organisers expressed.
