17 new COVID cases recorded

A total of 17 persons were infected with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday.

The Ministry’s daily COVID dashboard reported that 304 COVID-19 tests were conducted.

The new cases take the overall number of cases recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 488.

These cases were recorded in Region Two (one case), Region Three (one case), Region Four (13 cases) and Region Nine (two cases)

Meanwhile, there is just one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), three in institutional isolation and 30 persons in home isolation.

To date, 70, 175 persons have recovered after they were diagnosed with the disease while 1, 281 have died.
