11 more COVID infections recorded

A total of 11 persons were infected with COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

The Ministry’s daily COVID dashboard reported that 109 COVID-19 tests were conducted.

The new cases take the overall number of cases recorded in Guyana since March 2020 to 71, 499.

These cases were recorded in Region Four (9 cases) and Region Nine (two cases).

Meanwhile, there is just one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), one in institutional isolation, and 43 persons in home isolation.

To date, 70, 173 persons have recovered after they were diagnosed with the disease while 1, 281 have died.
