Raised by a single Mom and never being a star student, East Coast girl Pranita Seeraj has a message in what she was able to accomplish– she persevered and is now a practicing attorney.

Her petition to practice was presented before Justice Gino Persaud at the High Court by Attorney General Anil Nandlall.

Seeraj, 24, completed her LLB at the University of Guyana and also acquired a distinction in a diploma in Public Management. She was also elected the President of the Law Students Society at the Hugh Wooding Law School. Seeraj graduated from the Law School on September 16, 2022.

She is the first member of her family to have accomplished academic heights of this magnitude and is now attached at the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions. According to the AG, Seeraj has been deemed to be “well performing” by the office.

“I am privileged to be admitted to the bar. I intend to serve the Cooperative Republic of Guyana with great integrity.

“The journey to my accomplishments has not been easy. I was never the star student in my class, yet despite not attaining any of the top schools or all CSEC distinctions, I have accomplished a successful tertiary education,” Seeraj said in her acceptance speech.
