17 more COVID infections recorded

Seventeen persons were infected with COVID-19 over the last 24 hours after 105 tests were conducted, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.

The infected persons are from Region One (two cases), Region Two (one case), Region Four (three cases) and Region Seven (11 cases).

With these new cases, a total of 71,745 cases have been recorded in Guyana since March 2020.

Meanwhile, there is no patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Five persons are in institutional isolation and 214 persons are in home isolation.

To date, 70, 241 persons have recovered after they were diagnosed with the disease, while 1, 285 have died.
