Skeletal remains, believed to be that of Policeman Quincy Lewis, found in shallow grave

Skeletal remains believed to be that of missing Police Constable Quincy Lewis were on Wednesday afternoon discovered in a shallow grave at an area along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
After hours of searching, ranks of the Criminal Investigation Department found bones and clothing.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told the News Room the discovery was made around 17:00 hrs at an area along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
The bones will now be extracted and will be sent for DNA testing to confirm whether they are indeed those of Lewis.
Lewis disappeared without a trace close to three years ago. It has now been revealed that he was allegedly shot and killed by the husband of a woman he shared an intimate relationship with.
Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum, on Wednesday, told the News Room that after months of investigation, ranks of the CID were able to crack the case following the arrest of two suspects.
The News Room was reliably informed that the two men who are currently in Police custody were present when the crime allegedly occurred and they reportedly identified the woman and her husband as the prime suspects in the matter.
Information revealed that Lewis was lured to the East Bank Demerara home of the husband and wife where he was shot and killed. It was further alleged that the couple then transported Lewis’ body and dumped it in the vicinity of the Splashmin’s resort on the Linden/ Soesdyke Highway.
The News Room has since confirmed that the woman and her husband have since fled the jurisdiction via illegal means.
Lewis was attached to the Agricola Police Station on the East Bank of Demerara and left his home on June 19, 2020, for work but he never showed up.
A missing person’s report was filed seven days following his disappearance.
His cell phone was found a few months after he disappeared at Timehri, East Bank Demerara area with the screen cracked.
Over the years, Lewis’ mother, Charlene Jordan had been hopeful for answers so that she can get closure.
