Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony on Friday commissioned a new health centre in the community of Siriki, nestled along the Pomeroon River in Region Two.

The $23 million facility was strategically placed to ease the burden on locals, sparing them the arduous journey to distant medical centres. The new facility is also expected to alleviate the financial strains of residents while ensuring swift access to quality healthcare within the community.

The entire health centre relies on solar power, underscoring its modern and sustainable approach.

In his remarks, Dr Anthony emphasised the importance of enhancing primary healthcare and expanding the range of services offered.

With the hope of providing 216 distinct medical interventions at each health facility, the authorities invested in its solar refrigerators to ensure the safe storage of vaccines, bolstering the availability of essential medicines for the community.
