Ganesh Ramcharran, the 40-year-old farmer found dead along the Mashabo trail on the Essequibo Coast on Tuesday, allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, fell and incurred injuries about his body.

Police reported that the man rode his motorcycle (#CL 5021) to his farm at Gave Hill, Mashabo in Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) on Tuesday.

It is believed that he was heading back to his house at the Pomona Housing Scheme at about 16:00 hrs but lost control of his motorcycle while travelling along the trail.

Another farmer, Reneal Christian, found Ramcharran lying motionless along the trail sometime after and raised an alarm.

When Police arrived at the scene, the man’s body was found several feet away from the motorcycle; the front wheel of the motorcycle was bent.

Additionally blood was seen on Ramcharran’s face but no marks of violence were observed on the exposed parts of his body. He was pronounced dead at the Suddie Public Hospital.

The man’s body is at the Suddie funeral home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
