President announces ‘massive’ hotel, conference, entertainment facility with modern boardwalk

President Dr Irfaan Ali announced Tuesday night the construction of a “massive” hotel, conference and entertainment facility that will be combined with a modern boardwalk along the seawall in Georgetown.

He said the project is being funded by an investment group out of Qatar and will commence next year.

Speaking at a Private Sector Commission awards dinner, he said the facility will be built along Carifesta avenue in Georgetown.

According to the President, the project is part of the government’s Urban Renewal Plan.
