Construction of the Guyana Paediatric and Maternal Hospital, at Ogle, East Coast Demerara, is moving apace and Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony on Wednesday visited the site to inspect the ongoing works.

According to a statement from the ministry, the minister was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Malcolm Watkins, and a cohort of officials from VAMED Engineering and VIKAB Guyana Ltd.

This visit was to oversee the progress made in the construction the 256-bed facility, which is expected to be completed by the final quarter of 2025.

“This hospital upon completion is poised to provide comprehensive services which will cater to the healthcare needs of mothers (women of childbearing age) and children,” the statement said.
