Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle is backing the Guyana Amazon Warriors to make a successful defence of the CPL T20 title they won last year.

On the sidelines of an event on Thursday at the GCC ground, Bourda, Ninvalle said the key to success for the Warriors would be to ride on the momentum of the victorious home leg thus far.

He also commented on the passionate fans who have filled the National Stadium, Providence, for every Warriors game this season.

Currently second on the points table and already through to the playoff stage, Guyana Amazon Warriors will play their final two league games this weekend.

On Saturday morning, Imran Tahir’s men come up against table-toppers St. Lucia Kings from 10:00h at the National Stadium, Providence, while they play Trinbago Knight Riders on Sunday from 19:00h at the same venue.

These two matches will end the league segment, setting the stage for the playoff games in the new week.

The Eliminator will take place on October 1, followed by Qualifier One on October 2, Qualifier Two on October 4 and the final on October 6.

All playoff matches will commence at 19:00h at the National Stadium, Providence.
