BUDGET 2025: $10,000 healthcare voucher for every citizen

Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh on Friday announced that the government will be giving a $10,000 voucher to every person in Guyana.

Dr. Singh announced this budgetary measure on Friday night as part of his marathon presentation of the 2025 National Budget. He said it is meant to help finance a “basic menu” of health services.

The Finance Minister said this voucher joins other initiatives meant to help citizens access much-needed healthcare and social services.

“This intervention is likely to cost the government an estimated $5 billion dollars and potentially reach 500,000 persons,” he said.
