For the first time, local company General Equipment Guyana – GENEQUIP – is participating in the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo, signalling the company’s bold move into the oil and gas sector.

Known for its long-standing support of the mining and agriculture industries through high-quality machinery and equipment, GENEQUIP is now looking to play a crucial role in large-scale infrastructure and transformation projects across the country.

Speaking on the opening day of the expo, Nikita Whyte, Sales Manager at GENEQUIP, expressed the company’s excitement about this new commitment. She emphasised that GENEQUIP is dedicated to offering a complete package of solutions, not just equipment.

“We pride ourselves on providing excellent after-sales support. We’re more than just equipment suppliers—we are partners in the success of every project.

“We started with mining and agriculture, but as the country expands in so many directions, it’s only natural that we grow with it. Our decision to join this year’s expo reflects our desire to offer more to the public and explore new opportunities,” Whyte stated.

One of the exciting new directions for GENEQUIP is its involvement in quarrying operations. This area, which includes the provision of heavy machinery for stone crushing, is one of the company’s newest ventures.

“It’s a completely new area for us, but we’ve already seen great results and we’re looking to expand on that success,” Whyte said.

Technology is also at the forefront of GENEQUIP’s offerings. The company has embraced modern advancements, including machinery that allows users to monitor and control equipment remotely.

“Technology is a key aspect of what we offer. We provide our clients with the ability to track equipment performance and operations from anywhere, making it easier to manage projects efficiently,” Whyte explained.

GENEQUIP prides itself on being a 100% locally owned and operated company, reinforcing its commitment to the growth and development of Guyana. In addition to offering high-quality equipment, the company also invests in training and development.

“We don’t just sell equipment; we provide solutions,” said Whyte. “We offer in-house training, as well as university-level training for technicians, ensuring our clients are fully supported throughout the lifecycle of their machinery.”

What truly sets GENEQUIP apart, according to Whyte, is their dedication to customer education.

“We don’t want our clients to simply spend money; we want to advise them, educate them, and ensure they are making informed decisions that will benefit their projects in the long term,” she added.
