Man on $250,000 bail after wounding construction worker

Ravindranauth Parbhu, a 29-year-old Construction Worker of Success Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara, is on $250,000 bail after he was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a 42-year-old construction worker.

Police Headquarters reported that Parbhu inflicted harm on the construction worker, who is also from Success, on March 10. He was arrested on March 29 and charged on Wednesday.

Parbhu appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court #2 before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs where the charge was read to him; he pleaded not guilty.

Bail was granted in the sum of $250,000 with a condition to report at the Beterverwagting Police Station on the first Monday of every month, pending the outcome of the investigation.
The matter was postponed to May 21.
