Local business Roraima Airways has partnered with international partners to establish Duke Tower- a 22-storey state-of-the-art residential residence that will feature 131 rooms.

The Duke Tower will provide guests with a luxurious space and a panoramic view of the city. The building was designed by renowned architect Didier Rincon. It is a tribute to Roraima Airways through the Gouveia family.

It was developed by FASER Construction, a subsidiary of Colombian real estate development firm, Proyectamos y Edificamos, and conceived by Compass Realty Group.

Speaking at an event held at the Pegasus Corporate Suites on Friday evening, Camilo Fajardo, an engineer attached to FASER construction and Proyectamos y Edificamos, said Duke Tower is more than just a building.

“Real success needs local knowledge”, Fajardo said. He added that it is an honour to work with local partners Roraima Airways and New Hayven on this project.

“We are a strong team connecting our international experience with Guyana,” Fajardo said.

The Duke Tower will have 131 apartments, 89 of which are condos, a swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, sauna and an impressive lobby for leisure and business

Situated at Duke Street, Kingston, Georgetown, the structure will feature amenities including 131 apartments, 89 of which are condos, a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a sauna, and an impressive lobby for leisure and business.

In his remarks, New Hayven Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kurt Kisto said Guyana is experiencing unprecedented economic growth, entering a historic era of transformation. And at the heart of the transformation rises the Duke Tower, he said.

“The Duke Tower is intended to represent a symbol of Guyana’s emergence, to make a bold statement as to where we are going in celebration of the country’s rapid growth and global position,” Kisto noted.

Meanwhile, CEO of Guyana Office for Investment (GO-INVEST), {eter Ramsaroop said the establishment of Duke Tower represents as a statement in the economy.

“Guyana is now moving to a different level.

“This shows the commitment by a local Guyanese company to work with its partners to make Guyana a nation we are all proud of,” Ramsaroop said.

With growth being experienced across all the sectors, Ramsaroop added that the Duke Tower will open up opportunities for locals and foreign entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Anil Nandall highlighted that there is no restriction in Guyana as it relates to the height at which a building can be constructed.

He said that with development, the government has been putting measures in place to ensure investments are safeguarded. These measures include the implementation of new legislation.

“As a government, we can only facilitate these entrepreneurial pursuits and we are here to assure you that your investments are going to be secured.

“The government will ensure they do everything possible to protect your investment and ensure they yield the reward they are intended to,” Nandlall said
