Scoop Ride Inc officially launched its transportation service on Saturday night at the Bradley Hangar, Eugene F. Correia International Airport at Ogle.

The company is on a mission to revolutionise transportation in Guyana by providing safe, reliable, and affordable transport solutions that connect communities and reduce environmental impact.

More than simply transporting passengers from point A to point B, Scoop Ride aims to deliver a service that is fast, dependable, and strongly focused on customer satisfaction.

Central to the company’s operations is a strong emphasis on safety and accountability. All drivers undergo background checks, while every vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking. The fleet features advanced Geotab tracking technology and is monitored 24 hours a day to ensure passenger security and driver responsibility.

During brief remarks at the launch, owner Edmon Braithwaite introduced the Scoop Ride team and said the company, which started operations about six months ago, is focused on growing together with its employees.

Vehicles also operate within designated safety zones to prevent unauthorised travel outside approved areas. Alerts are triggered at the safety control centre in cases of excessive speeding or sudden stops, and driving patterns are continuously monitored to encourage smooth and cautious driving.

Passengers are also able to share their ride details with family and friends for added peace of mind. The Scoop Ride app allows users to check fares before booking, with no hidden fees, report concerns directly through the platform, and access cashless payment options.

During brief remarks at the launch, owner Edmon Braithwaite introduced the Scoop Ride team and said the company, which started operations about six months ago, is focused on growing together with its employees.

Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips also delivered remarks and welcomed the new company on behalf of the government, describing Scoop Ride as one of the newest business ventures in Guyana’s transportation sector.

He noted that with more roads being built and stronger connections being created between communities, there is increasing demand for reliable transportation services.

“Today we have another option: utilising technology. You can be in your home, book a ride, and receive information on how soon the vehicle will arrive at your location,” the Prime Minister explained.

The Scoop Ride app is available for download for both IOS and Android devices.
