Two families in Bloomfield Village, Corentyne, Berbice, are experiencing a transformation of their homes thanks to the Men on Mission (MOM) initiative.

On Tuesday, Minister of Agriculture Hon. Zulfikar Mustapha officially handed over new houses to 52-year-old Savibree Moteelall, who has a disability, and 34-year-old Nalini Bissessar.

Minister Mustapha alongside Tony Ameerally and Aubrey David, who are members of the MOM team, helped construct the homes.

He highlighted the initiative’s ongoing commitment to assisting many families across the nation, particularly vulnerable individuals.

He emphasised, “These families will now enjoy better facilities, a place where they can be more comfortable. We will continue to see what help we can give them in the future.”

Moteelall, who previously resided alone in a one-bedroom wooden house, expressed her gratitude regarding the positive changes brought by the new construction.

“Me glad for the help. Me glad for the Government help as well,” she said.

Bissessar, who shares her home with her husband, four daughters, son-in-law, and elderly aunt, also expressed her gratitude for how much their new home has changed.

“I am thankful because the old house was so shaky,” she revealed.
