Air Services Limited has announced a 9% reduction in airfares to newly-rehabilitated hinterland airstrips, a move the company says reinforces its commitment to making domestic air travel more affordable and accessible for hinterland communities.

Additionally, the company has also introduced direct flights to Paramakatoi three times per week, with the aim of providing residents with more reliable access to services. To support this expanded service, two additional Caravan aircraft have been added to the fleet to strengthen operational capacity and ensure safer, more efficient travel for passengers.

Accountable Manager of Air Services Limited, Captain Tarick Ramnarace, reportedly said these strategic improvements reflect Air Services Limited’s strong commitment to national development, community inclusion and the long-term growth of domestic aviation in Guyana.

The announcement comes after Guyana’s President Dr Irfaan Ali called on local airline operators to lower their airfares as the government develops airstrips across the country. Already, two other operators— Trans Guyana and Jags Aviation— have announced flight reductions too.
