Flame-grilled meats, salads & desserts: Texas de Brazil officially opens at Movietowne

Flame-grilled meats, scrumptious salads, and delectable desserts are part of the Texas de Brazil offering, now available to Guyanese.

The internationally-acclaimed churrascaria officially opened at Movietowne, Turkeyen, on Thursday night, after months of refining its offering and introducing itself to the local culinary scene.

Texas de Brazil is another major investment from Derek Chin, the Movietowne Chairman, who has long committed to offering international experiences to Guyana.

“It actually took a longer time than we thought (but) it’s here, it’s real,” Chin told the attendees at the launch.

At the launch, attendees were treated to the quintessential Texas de Brazil experience. A lavish salad bar— with everything from provolone and sushi, to fresh vegetables and dressings— awakened the palate, while the rodízio service, complete with gauchos carving flame-grilled meats tableside, made dinner more than just a meal.

This is the experience patrons can expect, and Chin hinted that it may soon be offered as a lunchtime option.

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Susan Rodrigues agreed that Texas de Brazil offers Guyanese a new gastronomic experience. She also hailed the Chin family for their continued interest and investments in Guyana, long before the country found oil.
