Goals from Anaya Joseph and Adrianna Chin spurred Guyana to a 2-0 victory over host nation Aruba in Group D action of the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers on Thursday night at Stadion Guillermo Prospero Trinidad in Oranjestad.

The opening goal landed in the 26th minute as Alexaudria Chasles sent a great ball into the middle of the box and connected with Anaya Joseph for the strike.

It remained a 1-0 game for most of the contest until Chasles came up with another assist in the 88th, spinning past defenders and linking up with  Chin to finish it off.

The victory secured Guyana, who drew 1-1 with Jamaica in their opening game, third spot on the table in the five-team group.

In the other Group D game on Thursday, Jamaica jumped to the top spot of the group with a 5-0 victory over St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the same venue.

The Reggae Girlz took the lead in the 38th off an own goal. Five minutes later, Jamaica doubled its lead when Jaya Lecky calmly buried a penalty kick.

In the 54th, Jamaica extended its lead as Malayna Johnson-Mighty turned on the jets and raced past everyone, finishing off her run with a toe poke.

Jamaica added another pair in a one-minute span as Kalila Daley found the back of the net in the 68th and Shennell Walters followed it up in the 69th.
