Chefpro Guyana has officially entered the local housing market, announcing a $100,000 rebate on every prefabricated home purchased by farmers, healthcare workers and service professionals. The announcement was made on Saturday at the launch of Chefpro Guyana Homes Showroom.

“To show our appreciation to those who serve and sustain our country, we are proud to offer a $100,000 rebate. This is our way of honoring the hands that feed us, care for us, and keep Guyana moving forward,” Director Manisha Lakhan said.

A homebuyer’s rebate is a portion of a real estate agent’s commission returned to the buyer at closing, often used to cover closing costs or as cash back, potentially saving buyers thousands.

According to the company, the rebate forms part of a wider strategy to reduce financial barriers to homeownership. The company offers prefabricated housing solutions designed to shorten construction timelines and lower overall building costs while maintaining modern standards.

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, attended the launch and welcomed the company’s investment in the housing sector. He highlighted the importance of private sector participation in meeting Guyana’s growing demand for housing and emphasised that innovative, cost-effective solutions are critical to expanding access to homeownership.

Chefpro Guyana operates under the Chefpro Group of Companies, established in Trinidad and Tobago in 2019. The company expanded into prefabricated housing through Chefpro Homes in 2024 and has since grown its footprint across the Caribbean.

Beyond housing, Lakhan announced plans to introduce the “Jesus Helping Hand Foundation” locally. The initiative aims to support survivors of domestic violence, displaced families and vulnerable children by developing shelters and safe spaces.

“Development is not just about buildings. It is about people. It is about safety. It is about love,” Lakhan stated.

With its official launch, the company says it intends to contribute to job creation, skills training and youth empowerment while positioning prefabricated housing as a practical alternative within Guyana’s rapidly evolving construction sector.
