Former national cyclist Williams among five elected to GCF General Council

Decorated former national cyclist Geron Williams is among five persons who have been elected to serve as council members of the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF).
The Federation convened a special meeting on March 14 at the National Racquet Centre on Woolford Avenue, Georgetown, and in accordance with constitutional requirements, the members were elected to the council to serve alongside the executive body.
Representing Continental Cycle Club, Williams, a former national Elite and Road Race champion and Commonwealth Games representative, has been joined on the council by Masimba Williams of Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club, Andrew Arjoon of KFC Evolution, Davindra Ramnarine of Carlton Wheelers Cycle Club and Sean Chin-Chan of Flying Stars Cycle Club.

“These council members will now form the General Council, working collaboratively with the executive members,” the GCF said in a media statement.
“They will also contribute to key committees- Finance, Racing and Discipline- ensuring stronger governance and improved management of cycling in Guyana.”
The GCF added that it “remains committed to fostering transparency, accountability and growth within the sport, and this election marks another milestone in building a solid foundation for the future of cycling in Guyana.”
