Clean water initiative to benefit 155 schools nationwide

155 schools across Guyana are set to receive improved access to clean, purified water under a new national initiative aimed at enhancing student welfare and promoting healthier learning environments.

The project is being implemented by the Nonn-Governmental Organisation Recover Guyana and the Greater Guyana Initiative, a multi-partner development programme funded by ExxonMobil and its partners in the Stabroek Block oilfields.

Called FLOW or the National Water Purification Project, it will target secondary, technical and vocational, and special needs schools across all 11 education districts.

It is designed to reduce reliance on unsafe water sources while encouraging environmentally sustainable practices.

Regions Three and Six will be the first to benefit, with purification systems expected to be operational shortly.
