Guyana’s Rosanna Fung continues to solidify her reputation as a powerhouse in the international bodybuilding arena with an exceptional performance at the prestigious International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Malta Pro Show over the weekend.

The 2025 IFBB World Champion took to the European circuit with the weight of a nation on her shoulders, ultimately securing a remarkable second-place finish against an elite field of international competitors.

Competing amidst a highly energised home crowd in Malta, Fung’s presentation was a masterclass in discipline and elegance, proving exactly why she remains one of the most formidable athletes in the IFBB Elite Pro ranks.

The achievement at the IFBB Diamond Cup Malta serves as a testament to Fung’s relentless dedication to her craft.

While her team noted in an official statement that a silver medal was not the specific outcome they had aimed for, they emphasised that the experience provides invaluable momentum for her professional trajectory.

Her physique and stage presence throughout the event were described as spectacular, reinforcing her status as a world-class ambassador for Guyanese sport.

In recognition of this latest milestone, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport extended formal congratulations to Fung, highlighting her unwavering discipline and the pride she brings to the country through her international representation.

Government officials and fans alike have lauded her ability to consistently “lift Guyana’s name high,” noting that her success on the world stage inspires a new generation of local athletes to pursue excellence.

The journey for the World Champion is far from over, as the focus now shifts immediately to her next major challenge.

Fung is slated to compete at the upcoming Roger Boyce Pro Show in Barbados, scheduled for May 14–18, 2026.

Given her current form and the narrow margin of her recent finish in Malta, she enters the Caribbean competition as a top-tier contender for the gold.
