Chef shot in Albouystown

A 27-year-old Chef of Barr Street, Albouystown was on Saturday shot to his leg at Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown. Police said the incident occurred at about 23:30h.
According to a police statement, the man was at the the location with several other persons when he was approached by a suspect from a western direction, who was armed with a handgun.
The suspect allegedly pointed the firearm in the victim’s direction and discharged two rounds, which struck him to his left thigh. He then escaped on a waiting motorcycle, which was parked on the western side of Hunter Street.
The victim was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by public-spirited persons, where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient. His condition is listed as stable.
CCTV cameras were observed in the area and will be reviewed.
No arrest has been made.
Investigations are ongoing.
