Man fatally stabbed on Hadfield Street 

A man only identified so far as “Gandy” was fatally stabbed early Monday morning at Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.

Police Headquarters said the man was on Hadfield Street at around 01:30 hrs when he was approached by an identifiable male. A scuffle reportedly ensued between the two men.

During the confrontation, the suspect, who was armed with a knife, allegedly stabbed Gandy in the centre of his chest. The victim fell to the ground, while the suspect fled the scene in a northern direction with the knife.

Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

CCTV cameras in the area were observed and will be reviewed as part of the investigation.

Gandy’s body is presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.

The suspect, who is presently at large, is being sought as investigations continue.
