Child killed, grandmother injured during Zeelugt robbery

A seven-year-old child was brutally murdered and his grandmother was reportedly stabbed to her neck after bandits invaded their Zeelugt New Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo house on Friday morning.
The identities of the victims are not yet known.
The News Room was informed that relatives at the scene related that child is usually in the company of his grandmother, who is confined to bed and would care for her.
When the bandits entered the house, it is believed that the child screamed to raised an alarm and he was attacked.
His grandmother was rushed to the hospital. The child and the woman, who suffered a stroke, were home alone at the time of the incident.
Investigators are currently at the scene. This is a developing story. More details will be provided in a subsequent report.
