The National Sports Commission, under the guidance of Director of Sports Christopher Jones, will be taking the welfare of athletes representing Guyana at this year’s Inter Guiana Games (IGG) very serious, as the commission looks to hit the reset button on how things were done under the previous administration
The Government of Guyana recently agreed to providing the Alex Bunbury with a plot of land in the Ituni area for the building of his multi-million US dollars Alex Bunbury Sports and Academic Academy. Bunbury in a sit-down with the News Room, believes that the facility, once completed with change sports and athletes in Guyana forever.
Guyana’s Alex Bunbury is hoping to have his former Clubs – English Premier League side West Ham United and Marítimo – to the Land of Many Waters, as his way of not only giving back, but affording the country’s players a chance to face some of the world’s top players. Bunbury, who sat with News Room Sports recently to discuss his latest project, believes that having the English Premier League club and one of Portugal top sides visit Guyana, will open many doors in the sport of football.
